North Kildonan Community Centre has been awarded $16,576 through the City of Winnipeg’s Community Centre Renovation Grant Program to upgrade its security camera system.
The funding will allow NKCC to expand its CCTV network to 17 high-quality cameras, improving security coverage throughout the facility. NKCC’s current CCTV video recorder and playback monitor will also be replaced as part of the project.
“This project is necessary for us to continue to provide a safe, welcoming and friendly environment for our community.”
“The upgraded CCTV system will serve as a deterrent, allow our staff the ability to monitor the facility better and provide authorities with video evidence to help in investigations,” said NKCC Director of Communications Mitch Rosset.
The CCTV upgrade will begin in the coming months. It’s expected the project will have minimal impact on facility users as most of the work will be completed during the day.
